Overview

The Daily page presents a single-day view for each user so you can quickly understand who worked, when they worked, and what they worked in. It provides a detailed snapshot of what your team is doing on any given day, allowing you to see team-wide activity, engagement, and productivity in a single view for a specific date.

You'll see:

  • User context: name, avatar, and (when enabled via column visibility) job title, department, manager, and projects
  • Key KPIs (when enabled via column visibility): Availability, Activity, Engagement, Productivity, Contribution, Overall Rating
  • Per-user activity chart: 10-minute blocks across a full 24-hour period showing activity level and category

Hovering a chart block reveals the time range, activity percentage, categories, and the specific apps used during that period.

Page Layout

The Daily page is organized into the following areas, from top to bottom:

  1. Header bar – Contains the sidebar toggle, page title ("Daily"), a settings icon, and the Date Picker on the far right.
  2. Card header – Contains the section title "Daily Activity Chart" (with a bar-chart icon and an informational tooltip), the Category Switcher button, and the Select Columns button.
  3. Filter bar – Contains filter buttons (Job title, Department, Projects, Manager) and the Search by name field.
  4. Table header – Column headings (Name, Time, and hour labels for the Activity Chart) with sort controls.
  5. Table body – One row per user, each showing avatar, name, time worked, and the activity chart. Additional columns appear when enabled via column visibility.

Location on page: The page title "Daily" appears at the top-left of the header bar. The Date Picker appears at the top-right of the header bar. The card with the "Daily Activity Chart" title and the table occupies the main content area below.

Getting Started

When the page loads, it defaults to Today's date and displays users matching your permissions. Only Avatar, Name, Time, and Activity Chart columns are visible by default to maximize the space available for the activity chart.

Location on page:

  • Page Title (top-left of header bar): Displays "Daily".
  • Date Picker (top-right of header bar): Allows selection of one day only. Shows the current date (e.g., "18 Mar, 2026").
  • Card Title (left side of card header): Displays "Daily Activity Chart" with a stacked bar-chart icon.
  • Category Switcher (right side of card header): Button to cycle through chart color modes.
  • Select Columns (right side of card header): Button (columns icon) to toggle column visibility.
  • Filter bar (below card header): Contains filter buttons and the search field.
  • Table (below filter bar): The user data table with activity charts.

Recommendation: Keep the default minimal column layout to give the activity chart maximum space. Only enable additional columns when you need to see specific KPIs or user details.

Best Practices

  • Focus on activity visualization rather than turning on too many columns.
  • Regularly review the color distribution and bar height variation in the chart to assess productivity.
  • Use filters to analyze specific departments, projects, job titles, or managers.
  • For team overviews, combine Activity, Engagement, and Productivity columns with the Activity Chart for maximum insight.
  • Use the Category Switcher to view activity colored by time categories, tracked projects, or importance level.

Tip: Use the Daily page at the start or end of each day to understand team dynamics — who's active, what they're working on, and how their engagement trends align with project goals.

Date and Timezone

The Daily page has its own date picker and always defaults to Today.

Location on page: Top-right corner of the header bar. Displayed as a button showing the selected date (e.g., "18 Mar, 2026") with a calendar icon.

How to use:

  1. Click the date picker button in the top-right corner of the header.
  2. Choose from preset options or select a custom date from the calendar:
    • Today – Current day (default)
    • Yesterday – Previous day
    • A week ago – Seven days prior
  3. Or click any date on the calendar to select it.

Important notes:

  • Changing the date here applies only to the Daily page; it does not affect other pages.
  • Navigating away and returning resets the selection to Today.
  • Hovering over the date picker shows the tooltip: "Select the date for which the performance data is shown."

Times are displayed according to the timezone selected in Settings. This setting affects presentation only and does not change underlying source data.

Category Switcher

The Category Switcher lets you change how the Activity Chart bars are colored for all users at once. Each mode assigns bar colors based on a different grouping criterion.

Location on page: Right side of the card header, to the left of the Select Columns button. Displayed as a small icon button.

Available modes (click to cycle):

ModeIconTooltipDescription
Time categoriesPie chart"Grouped by time categories"Bars are colored by the type of activity (e.g., Communication, Development, Documentation, Design). This is the default mode.
Tracked projectsBriefcase"Grouped by projects"Bars are colored by the project the user was working on during each 10-minute block.
ImportanceHammer"Grouped by importance"Bars are colored by the tool importance level: Primary (green), Secondary (yellow), Neutral (gray), Distracting (red).

How it works: Each click advances to the next mode in the cycle: Time categories → Tracked projects → Importance → Time categories.

Tip: Use Importance mode to quickly spot how much time your team spends on primary work tools versus distracting ones.

Filters and Search

Use the filter controls above the table to narrow the list of displayed users.

Location on page: Directly below the card header, in a horizontal row. Filter buttons appear on the left, and the search field appears on the right side of the filter bar.

Available Filters

FilterButton LabelDescription
Job title"+ Job title"Filter users by their job title. Opens a popover with checkboxes for available job titles.
Department"+ Department"Filter users by department. Opens a popover with checkboxes for available departments.
Projects"+ Projects"Filter users by project. Visible only when project tracking is enabled for your organization. Opens a popover with checkboxes for available projects.
Manager"+ Manager"Filter users by their direct manager. Opens a popover with checkboxes for available managers.

How to use filters:

  1. Click a filter button (e.g., "+ Department").
  2. A popover opens with a list of checkboxes.
  3. Select one or more options.
  4. Click Apply to activate the filter (for Job title, Department, and Manager filters). The Projects filter applies automatically when selections change.
  5. Click Reset within the popover to clear selections for that filter.

Important notes:

  • Filters appear regardless of whether the corresponding column is visible in the table — you can filter by Department even if the Department column is hidden.
  • When a filter is active, the button style changes from dashed to solid border to indicate active filtering.
  • Multiple filters can be active simultaneously and they combine (e.g., filtering by both a department and a manager shows only users matching both).

Search

Location on page: Right side of the filter bar, displayed as a text input with a search icon and placeholder text "Search by name...".

Type a person's name into the search field and the table updates after a brief delay (approximately 300 milliseconds). The search is performed server-side for accuracy.

Tip: If you expect to see the Projects filter but do not, confirm that projects are enabled for your organization.

Sorting

Click any sortable column header to sort the table. An arrow indicator shows the current sort column and direction.

Location on page: Column headers in the table header row. Sortable columns show a small arrow icon next to the column name.

Sortable columns: Name, Time, Job Title, Department, Manager, Activity, Availability, Engagement, Productivity, Contribution, and Overall Rating.

  • Default sort is Name (A → Z)
  • Click once for ascending; click again to toggle to descending
  • Sorting is handled on the server for accuracy with large lists
  • The Activity Chart column is not sortable

Column Visibility and Layout

You can show or hide columns using the Select Columns button to customize your view.

Location on page: Right side of the card header, displayed as a button with a columns icon (grid icon). It appears to the right of the Category Switcher button.

How to use:

  1. Click the Select Columns button (columns icon) in the card header.
  2. A popover opens with a list of all available columns as checkboxes.
  3. Check or uncheck columns to show or hide them.
  4. Drag and drop column names in the popover to reorder them in the table.
  5. Close the popover to apply changes.

Default visible columns: Avatar, Name, Time, and Activity Chart.

Default hidden columns: Job Title, Department, Manager, Projects, Overall Rating, Availability, Activity, Engagement, Productivity, and Contribution.

Important notes:

  • Column visibility preferences are saved locally in your browser and persist across page reloads.
  • Hiding columns gives the Activity Chart more horizontal space, making trends and outliers easier to spot.
  • Download/export is not available on the Daily page.

Column Resizing

You can resize most table columns by dragging the column border.

Location on page: The right edge of each column header in the table. A thin resize handle appears when you hover near the column border.

How to use:

  1. Hover your cursor over the right edge of a column header until the resize handle appears.
  2. Click and drag left or right to adjust the column width.
  3. Release to set the new width.
  4. Double-click the resize handle to reset the column to its original default width.

Important notes:

  • Column widths are saved locally in your browser and persist across page reloads.
  • The Avatar column cannot be resized (fixed at 64 pixels).
  • All other columns have a minimum width of 100 pixels.

Infinite Loading

The table loads users in batches as you scroll to keep the page responsive.

Location on page: At the bottom of the table body. A loading indicator appears when more users are being fetched.

  • Loads in batches of 15 users at a time
  • As you scroll near the bottom of the table, the next batch loads automatically
  • A spinner and "Loading more..." text appear at the bottom while additional rows are loading
  • Scrolling continues to trigger new batches until all matching users are displayed

Per-User Activity Chart

Each row contains a compact stacked bar chart (the Activity Chart column) that covers a full 24-hour period and shows activity in 10-minute increments.

Location on page: The rightmost visible column in the default layout. The table header for this column displays hour labels (e.g., "00am", "1am", "2am" ... "11pm") that adapt to the screen width — more labels are shown on wider screens, fewer on narrower screens.

Chart Structure

  • Each bar in the chart represents 10 minutes of time.
  • Bars are stacked vertically to show activity from multiple categories in a single time slot.
  • Each bar has two key visual indicators:
    • Color: Represents the grouping based on the current Category Switcher mode (time categories, tracked projects, or importance level).
    • Height: Represents the intensity of activity (higher = more active, scaled from 0% to 100%).
  • Hover a bar to see a detailed tooltip.

Activity Chart Tooltip

Hovering over any bar in the chart reveals a tooltip with the following information:

Location on page: Appears near the cursor when hovering over a chart bar. Automatically repositions to stay within the viewport.

  • Time range – The exact 10-minute window (e.g., "09:00 - 09:10")
  • Activity percentage – The activity level during that period (e.g., "Activity: 45%")
  • Categories – Each category that had tracked time in the period, shown with its color indicator and total time
  • Apps per category – Individual applications used within each category, indented below the category name, with their tracked time

Interpreting the Chart

  • Color Patterns: Verify whether employees are spending time on expected activities. For example, in Time categories mode, developers should have primarily development-related colors. In Importance mode, look for predominantly green (Primary) bars.
  • Bar Height Variation:
    • A healthy pattern includes medium to high variation in bar heights.
    • Consistent medium and high bars suggest strong engagement.
    • A mix of activity levels is normal and indicates dynamic work patterns.

A well-balanced chart with color alignment and consistent medium-high activity levels suggests a productive and engaged workday.

Responsive Hour Labels

The hour labels in the Activity Chart header adjust based on your screen width:

Screen WidthLabels Shown
1570px and aboveEvery hour (00am through 11pm)
1280px – 1569pxEvery 2 hours
1024px – 1279pxEvery 3 hours
768px – 1023pxEvery 4 hours
Below 768pxEvery 6 hours

Tips:

  • Reduce visible columns to give the chart more space — trends and outliers become easier to spot.
  • Use the Category Switcher to view the same data from different angles.
  • Use filters to isolate teams or managers before analyzing patterns.

KPI Definitions

Same definitions as Dashboard, applied to the selected day:

Availability

What it measures: The portion of the day the user was working, out of the total amount of time they were expected to work.

Displayed as: Percentage with a cyan progress bar.

Activity

What it measures: The level of interaction with the computer through mouse and keyboard usage. It is calculated as the percentage of active seconds out of the total number of seconds tracked.

Displayed as: Percentage with a pink progress bar.

Engagement

What it measures: The portion of time spent in primary and secondary tools out of the total tracked time.

Displayed as: Percentage with a yellow/warning progress bar.

Productivity

What it measures: The portion of active work minutes spent in primary and secondary tools out of the total possible time based on how much users are expected to work. If any second is active within a minute, then the entire minute is counted as active.

Displayed as: Percentage with a green progress bar.

Contribution

What it measures: The total number of active work minutes spent in primary and secondary tools. If any second is active within a minute, then the entire minute is counted as active.

Displayed as: Hours and minutes (e.g., "7h 30m").

Overall Rating

What it measures: A composite score summarizing core KPIs (engagement, productivity, and activity metrics) into a single percentage.

Displayed as: Percentage with a light-green progress bar.

Navigation

  • Click a user's Name (shown as a blue link on hover) to open their Profile page for an activity timeline and additional details. A tooltip with the user's full name appears on hover (useful when the name is truncated).
  • The user's Avatar is display-only and is not clickable.

Location on page: The Name column in each table row. Clicking the name navigates to the employee's Profile page.

Troubleshooting

I don't see any data for the selected day

Cause: No tracked activity for that date, or filters are too restrictive.

Solution: Choose a different date, clear all active filters, or widen your search.

Error loading data

Location on page: An error message with a warning icon appears in the center of the table area when data fails to load. A "Try Again" button is displayed below the error message.

Solution: Click the Try Again button to reload the data. If the error persists, check your internet connection and try refreshing the page.

Projects aren't visible

Cause: The Projects feature is disabled for your organization.

Solution: Ask an Admin or Owner to enable project tracking. Once enabled, the Projects filter and column will become available.

No results vs. No data available

The table displays two different empty states:

  • "No data available" — No tracked data exists at all for the selected date.
  • "No results." — Data exists but your current filters or search do not match any users.

Solution: If you see "No results", try removing filters or clearing the search field.

Columns are missing

Cause: Columns may be hidden via the Select Columns menu.

Solution: Click the Select Columns button (columns icon in the card header) and enable the columns you want to see.
