ActivTrak reviews: what unhappy customers report in 2026
ActivTrak reviews on Trustpilot average 1.6 out of 5, and 17 of the 18 reviews posted there since February 2023 give one star (October 2026). The lowest-rated reviews repeat four complaints: renewal charges customers say came without warning, slow cancellations, refused refunds and support that is hard to reach. Intelogos, our pick, is rated 5.0 out of 5 on G2.
We make Intelogos, which competes with ActivTrak. This page summarizes public reviews and links every source.
How we read them: on October 23, 2026 we read all 33 one- and two-star ActivTrak reviews on Trustpilot, posted between March 2018 and July 2026, and counted each theme once for every review that raised it. Trustpilot doesn't allow companies to offer incentives for reviews, and it notes that ActivTrak hasn't invited customers to review recently. Intelogos's rating is from G2, read the same day.
Our pick for teams leaving ActivTrak: Intelogos. Intelogos is a workforce analytics platform that shows how work time is spent across apps and websites, without screenshots or keystroke logging, and lets managers ask questions about it in plain language. Against the complaints in these reviews, here is what it offers:
- Rated 5.0 out of 5 on G2 from 102 reviews, 100 of them five-star and 2 four-star (October 23, 2026).
- Monthly or yearly billing at published prices: Analytics is $8 per license per month billed yearly, or $10 billed monthly, so you can commit a month at a time. ActivTrak bills annually only.
- A free trial on both paid plans, so you see the product on your own data before you pay.
- No screen capture: Intelogos doesn't take screenshots. Intelogos doesn't record what people type; it records only whether keyboard or mouse input happened.

- 100 five-star, 2 four-star, none lower
Trustpilot's high share of five-star reviews comes from the past. Most of them were posted in 2018 and 2019 and are labeled "Invited", meaning ActivTrak asked customers to write them, and the most recent five-star review is from January 2023. Since then, 17 of the 18 reviews give one star. The one exception, a four-star review from June 2026, found the tracking "accurate and reliable" and says ActivTrak's customer success team eventually cancelled the subscription without penalty (Trustpilot, June 2026).
What do ActivTrak's lowest-rated reviews say?
Billing, above all. Of the 33 one- and two-star reviews on Trustpilot, 16 describe a renewal or charge the customer says they didn't expect or authorize, 11 a cancellation that was hard to finish, 11 support that was slow, scripted or unreachable, and 7 a refund that was refused. The recent reviews say the same: of the 10 one-star reviews posted since January 2025, 6 are about a renewal or charge, 5 about support, 4 about cancelling and 4 about a refused refund.

Counts from our reading of all 33 one- and two-star ActivTrak reviews on Trustpilot (March 2018 to July 2026), read October 23, 2026. A review counts once for each theme it raises, so the counts add up to more than 33. Employee answers come from ActivTrak's help center, read the same day.
Renewals and charges customers didn't expect (16 of 33)
The most common complaint is an annual renewal the reviewer didn't see coming. Several say the tool hadn't been used for months, or that a former employee had signed up, when the next year's charge arrived. A US business wrote in July 2026 that ActivTrak "charged our business credit card a significant amount without any notice or warning" (Trustpilot, July 2026). ActivTrak's position is its contract: subscriptions renew automatically unless you give notice 30 days before the term ends, under section 11.1 of its master subscription agreement. Our guide to ActivTrak auto-renewal explains how to give notice in time.
Refunds that were refused (7)
Once a renewal has gone through, reviewers say ActivTrak keeps it. One US reviewer, whose former employee had opened the account years earlier, writes that ActivTrak "won't refund the latest autorenewal annual payment" (Trustpilot, September 2025). ActivTrak's help center says cancellations aren't permitted during an active contract and refunds aren't issued; see our ActivTrak refund guide.
Cancellations that take weeks (11)
Cancelling means a request form rather than a button, and reviewers describe waiting weeks for a confirmation while charges continue. A UK reviewer titled a review "Cancelled weeks ago and still paying" (Trustpilot, April 2025), and an Australian one found that the "cancellation form doesn't allow for non-US phone numbers to be entered" (Trustpilot, January 2025). A US owner in January 2026 says the request was followed by a list of files to delete and a 30-day wait. Our guide to cancelling ActivTrak walks through the form, and your options in an annual contract covers the rest.
Support that is hard to reach (11)
Reviewers describe no phone number to call, days without an answer and replies that repeat the contract. One US reviewer in March 2026 says they asked for the signed order form and clear answers, and "got the same recycled explanation about notice periods" (Trustpilot, March 2026). ActivTrak replied to some negative reviews up to 2024, but to none of the ten one-star reviews posted since January 2025. Our guide to getting a response from ActivTrak support lists every channel ActivTrak publishes.
Products that didn't work (8)
Eight reviews describe agents that never reported or stopped, tracking lost after a server problem, or data lost in an account mix-up. Most are older: six are invited reviews from 2018.
What does ActivTrak actually track?
ActivTrak records the app or website in the active window, how long it was used and whether there was mouse or keyboard activity, on Windows, macOS and ChromeOS computers. It doesn't log keystrokes or use cameras; window titles, full URLs, screenshots and live screen views depend on the plan and the Screen Details add-on.
| What | Does ActivTrak collect it? | Plan or add-on |
|---|---|---|
| App or website in the active window, with time spent | Yes | Every plan |
| Mouse movement, clicks and key presses in the active window | Yes, as user activity; ActivTrak doesn't log what was typed | Every plan |
| Computer name, time zone, user name, domain and IP addresses | Yes | Every plan |
| Window titles and full URLs | Off by default | Screen Details add-on, or the Advanced Details setting on Workforce Management and Productivity Optimization |
| Screenshots | Only when an alarm triggers one | Screen Details add-on, $2 per user per month in the help center, sold with Work Activity Tracking and Workforce Management |
| Live screen views | Off by default | Screen Details add-on |
| Pop-up alarms and closing apps or the browser | When an admin sets them up | Screen Details add-on |
| Calendar events | Title, description, duration, attendee responses and email addresses | Calendar integration |
| Keystroke logging | No | Not offered |
| Camera or video monitoring | No | Not offered; the agent has no access to cameras |
From ActivTrak's help center (What Data Does ActivTrak Collect?, updated August 31, 2026; Screen Details (Add-on), updated August 25, 2026; How ActivTrak Respects Employee Privacy, updated August 31, 2026) and its pricing page, all read October 23, 2026. Every source is listed at the end.
If you are an employee: admins can limit tracking to working hours with tracking schedules, and a user on the Do Not Track list isn't tracked at all. ActivTrak's packages start with screenshots and screen views turned off, and ActivTrak encourages employers to tell their teams it's in use and to let employees see their own work habits.
How is Intelogos rated on G2?
Intelogos is rated 5.0 out of 5 on G2 from 102 reviews: 100 five-star and 2 four-star, with no rating below four stars (October 23, 2026). G2's summary of those reviews lists ease of use (58 mentions), visibility (53), time tracking (47), features (42) and insights (39) as the most-mentioned strengths.
Reviewers describe the same thing ActivTrak's critics say they were missing: clear visibility without a sense of being watched.
- An e-commerce manager at a small business says it helps "maintain transparency without feeling like I'm policing anyone" (G2, October 2025).
- A software developer writes: "It feels less like 'monitoring' and more like guidance" (G2, September 2025).

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is ActivTrak rated so low on Trustpilot?
Because almost every recent Trustpilot review is a one-star billing complaint. ActivTrak's TrustScore is 1.6 out of 5 from 152 reviews, and 17 of the 18 reviews posted since February 2023 give one star (October 23, 2026). Of the 33 one- and two-star reviews, 16 describe a renewal or charge the customer didn't expect, 11 a hard cancellation and 7 a refused refund. Most of the five-star reviews were invited by ActivTrak in 2018 and 2019.
Is ActivTrak worth it?
It depends on how you buy it. ActivTrak bills annually only, renews automatically unless you give notice 30 days before the term ends, and its lowest-rated reviews describe renewals and cancellations that went badly. If you want monthly billing and analytics without screenshots, Intelogos, our pick, is rated 5.0 out of 5 on G2.
Does ActivTrak renew automatically?
Yes. ActivTrak's master subscription agreement renews subscriptions automatically unless you give notice 30 days before the term ends, and its plans are annual only (pricing page, October 2026). Put the notice date in your calendar; our guide to ActivTrak auto-renewal explains how to give notice.
Can you get a refund from ActivTrak?
Rarely. ActivTrak's help center says cancellations aren't permitted during an active contract and refunds aren't issued, and 7 of the 33 low-rated Trustpilot reviews describe a refund request that was turned down. Our ActivTrak refund guide covers the options that remain.
What does ActivTrak track?
The app or website in the active window, the time spent, and whether there was mouse or keyboard activity, plus computer details such as the computer name, time zone and IP addresses. Window titles, full URLs, screenshots and live screen views need the Screen Details add-on or, for titles and URLs, the Advanced Details setting on higher plans, according to ActivTrak's help center (read October 23, 2026).
Does ActivTrak record keystrokes or use the webcam?
No. ActivTrak's help center says it doesn't provide keystroke logging, offers no video monitoring, and that its agent has no access to device cameras. It does count key presses, clicks and mouse movement in the active window as activity, which decides whether time is active, passive or inactive.
How is Intelogos rated?
Intelogos is rated 5.0 out of 5 on G2 from 102 reviews, 100 of them five-star and 2 four-star (October 23, 2026). Reviewers most often mention ease of use, visibility and time tracking.
How does ActivTrak compare with Intelogos?
ActivTrak's workforce plans cost $10 to $17 per worker per month billed annually (October 2026), and it sells screenshots and live screen views as an add-on. Intelogos costs $8 per license per month billed yearly or $10 monthly on Analytics ($12 or $15 on AI Intelligence), reports seven KPIs with importance categories set per department, doesn't take screenshots, and is rated 5.0 out of 5 on G2 against ActivTrak's 4.3.
