How to best use Intelogos app

To download the desktop app press on your avatar in the top right corner and select “Install Intelogos app”

Setting up the App to Run Automatically

You can always choose the manual route. Launch the app manually and start/stop the timer by pressing 'start/stop' from the app menu. However, we encourage you to set it up to run automatically. This way, you'll never have to worry about forgetting to turn it on.

Open at Login

To ensure the Intelogos desktop app turns on automatically every time you start your computer, add a checkmark next to “Open at login” in the app menu. This way, you won’t have to worry about starting the app.

Note: The fact that the application is on doesn’t mean that it is actively gathering data. If your timer is not running, then no data is collected.

Autostart Time

To ensure data is gathered, make sure your timer is running. To avoid forgetting to turn it on, add a checkmark next to “Autostart time” in your desktop app menu. This guarantees that whenever the application is launched, it will automatically start timing.

If you place checkmarks on both “Open at login” and “Autostart time,” then each time you turn on your computer, it will automatically begin gathering data.

Stopping the Timer and Managing Idle Time

You can always stop the timer manually by pressing “stop”. Additionally, the timer will automatically stop in a couple of situations.

First, it will stop if you turn off your computer. So, if you are done working for the day and shut down your computer, don't worry, it will stop automatically.

Second, if the app thinks that you have been away from the computer for more than 20 minutes, the next time you interact with your computer, an “Idle time” popup will appear. During this popup, the timer stops automatically. The popup provides two options: you can either save the idle time, which adds it to your total timer count, or discard it, which deletes the idle time as if it never existed.

How Data is Sent to the Server

The data is sent to the server in three ways:

First, while you are working, the data will be sent every 10 minutes. Therefore, if you notice discrepancies between your profile page on the web app and the time displayed on the desktop app, it is likely because the data has not been sent yet.

Second, whenever you press “Stop,” the data will be immediately sent to the server.

Third, when you turn off your computer, it will automatically attempt to send the data to the server before shutting down the app.

Note that all daily stats visible on profiles are updated once a day. Therefore, after a person starts using the desktop app, the stats will only become visible the next day.
